how important is 'paper qualification' in the society nowdays?!?...

see a lot of people and know quite a good number of them are kinda wasting their parents money studying just for the sake of studying and follow their peers taking up the course they are taking... many of them either give up half way or they come back with paper A and doing something which relates to paper Z...

when asked their parents who already know their children can't study... why waste time sending them to college?!?... most likely the answer would be... "at least got one paper to find job in the future mah"...

when they were told there are also people who made it WITHOUT any proper education, prolly until primary schooling or so... reaction would most prolly be... "that one last time... got a lot of opportunities... now paper is more important"...

i agree paper qualification is pretty important to a certain limit... when you have a proper paper for job interview/s, chances are you will have an uppper hand than those who do not... also, it's very much depending on which kinda line you intend to get yrself into... you dun get very successful chinaman in selayang dealing with gigantic excavators, hands filled with engine oil, etc.. with any other cert than his spm grade 3 cert with him and/or maybe even his srp also cukup makan!...

well...

how important is 'paper qualification' in the society nowdays?!?...

you ended up doing wat you studied?!?...

my personal believe/opinion... gauge yr own children abilities whether can they study or not.. you have at least a good 11 years to do the gauging and lend them a helping hand to decide on certain things, which bound to have some uncertainties here and there when they finish secondary schooling... if they can study and if you are capable of sending them here and there to equip themselves for their own future, by all ways and means, go ahead... if they are not a fren of bookworms, let them start to live the life of a working person as soon as they finish secondary schooling, then can take up part-time course/s here and there to equip themselves further...

think this way will help both parties... parents and the children...

mahathir vs abdullah... round 2?!?...

another interesting one to follow up... watever outsome it may be.... it may do something to the economy of malaysia too...

only 3 matters mentioned below... mahathir may even touch on khairy's position/authority too...

The second round of Mahathir-Abdullah political tussle is probably the most important and decisive one which will determine the duration of the Abdullah premiership regardless of whether the battle goes the “full 15 rounds” or otherwise

Media Statement

______________________

(Ipoh, Saturday) Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad’s return from his 22-day overseas trip marked the second round of the Mahathir-Abdullah political tussle, with him opening up on his arrival at the Subang military airport on three fronts:

* That he was barred from speaking to UMNO Clubs in England and that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was not as open to criticism as when he (Mahathir) was Prime Minister – citing the case of Bapa Malaysia and first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, who “wrote to the Star, he wrote books, he wrote all sort of things, he supported those who wanted to dethrone me, but I didn’t do anything to him”.

* That the government had not satisfactorily replied to his allegations over the cancellation of the RM1.1 billion crooked half-bridge, particularly over the sale of sand to Singapore as none of the declassified documents, which contained four correspondences between him and top Singapore officials, released last week divulged new details. As Mahathir said, “they bring out old letters that Singapore had long published”.

* That he had “picked a foreign minister (Datuk Syed Hamid Albar) who does not know how to read letters”.

Mahathir has selective memory, as he did not mention the dark years of oppression under his premiership, in particular the 1987 Operation Lalang clampdown of mass arrests of Opposition MPs and leaders, civil society activists as well as closure of newspapers, resulting in the “silencing” of Tunku Abdul Rahman in the mainstream media.

However, Mahathir’s complaint that the Abdullah government had failed so far to answer satisfactorily the various issues he had raised is valid, although it is not only Abdullah who must give full and satisfactory accountability for his 33 months of premiership, Mahathir cannot escape responsibility and accountability for his 22-year premiership with satisfactory answers to the long catalogue of questions which had been posed to him on the grave destruction he had wrought to key national institutions, whether independent Parliament, Judiciary, Cabinet, Police, Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Agency, Civil Service or Media as the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The second round of Mahathir-Abdullah political tussle is probably the most important and decisive one which will determine the duration of the Abdullah premiership regardless of whether the battle goes the “full 15 rounds” or otherwise.

This is because at issue is the battle for the hearts and minds of UMNO, which will decide the tenure and duration of Abdullah’s leadership of UMNO and therefore the premiership. I understand that Mahathir has been invited to officiate at several UMNO divisional general meetings next month.

Abdullah won the biggest electoral mandate ever achieved by any Prime Minister in Barisan Nasional history when he secured 92 per cent of the parliamentary seats in the 2004 general election on his promise of government reform and war against corruption.

Unfortunately, Abdullah had not been able to make use of this unprecedented popular mandate to deliver his electoral pledge of a clean, efficient and people-oriented government.

This was why in the September 2004 UMNO party elections, Abdullah suffered major setbacks when UMNO candidates he favoured were trounced while UMNO leaders he would like to see retired triumphed with the highest number of votes.

If in this second Mahathir-Abdullah round of political tussle, Abdullah failed to realize the grave challenge posed to his premiership and allow the impression to gain ground and take root that Abdullah is unable to give satisfactory response to the Mahathir challenge, his fragile hold on UMNO loyalties will be broken as UMNO stalwarts throughout the country and at all levels of leadership started to hedge bets so as not to back the “wrong horse” and be caught on the wrong footing in the final UMNO leadership showdown which appears to be unavoidable.

The most effective way for Abdullah to counter the Mahathir challenge is to stay true to his election promises and deliver his 2004 election pledge to reform the government and to fight corruption. He had however dilly-dallied for 33 months with very little to show. The window of opportunity for Abdullah to deliver his election pledge is closing quick and fast, which in the long run, will undermine his ability to defend and preserve his premiership and fight off the Mahathir challenge, with far-reaching consequences not only on how long the fifth Prime Minister will hold office but also his legacy.

world cup 2006 in a nut shell...

like wat i mentioned here and there earlier.. kinda boring...

pretty much predictable winning team and unpredictable scorelines, etc...

filled with interesting incidents.. filled with cards... filled with tears... filled with dramas.. etf...

zidane gave a memorable final with the head butting incident... 2nd penalty shoot-out decider in the world cup history... frankyly speaking fm a very neutral point of view, italy didn't win it.. more like the french gave it away... to me personally, to win or lose in a penalty shoot-out don't really constitute that team a world champion or that team takes the 2nd place.. thank God they didn't use the golden goal rule... it's much more sickening!...

now, got to wait another 4 years for the world cup to be played again in south africa!...

article fm... http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/060709/1/8pce.html...

Germany 2006 will no doubt be remembered as the fans’ FIFA World Cup™. With millions of people attending public screenings of the event, the atmosphere in the host country was incredible, as people from all over the world took the official motto ‘A time to make friends’ to heart.

On the pitch, 32 teams battled it out for football’s ultimate prize. Some bowed out after just three games while France fell at the final hurdle as Italy claimed the crown of world champions, a description that will be used against their name for the next four years. Here, FIFAworldcup.com reviews the performance of each individual team, listed in order of how far they got.

Winners:
Italy
The Azzurri won the FIFA World Cup for the fourth time after holding their nerves in a dramatic penalty shoot-out. For their performances in the group stages, Round of 16, quarter-finals and semis, football fans all over the world would agree that Marcello Lippi's side were worthy winners of the competition.

Runners-up:
France
Inspired by Zinedine Zidane, until his dramatic sending-off in the Final, Les Bleus surprised everyone to reach the showdown in Berlin on 9 July. Although they looked shaky in the group stage, it was in the knockout rounds that they really came into their own, defeating Spain, Brazil and Portugal with relative ease.

Third place:
Germany
The highest scorers at the tournament captured the imagination of the public with a combination of fine football and a never-say-die attitude.

Fourth place:
Portugal
Luiz Felipe Scolari’s outfit were arguably the surprise package of Germany 2006, overcoming Mexico, the Netherlands and England en route to the semi-finals.

Quarter-finalists:
Argentina
After some great performances in the group stages and a victory over Mexico in the Round of 16, the Albiceleste were unlucky to lose to the hosts in a dramatic shoot-out.

Brazil
The world champions’ attempt to secure their sixth FIFA World Cup success ended after a lacklustre showing against France. A tournament to forget for the Seleção.

England
Unlucky with injuries, unlucky from the spot. Once again, penalties proved to be the undoing of England, who failed to live up to their high expectations at this event.

Ukraine
Coached by Oleg Blokhin, the FIFA World Cup first-timers did extremely well in reaching the last eight, but found Italy too tough an opponent in Hamburg.

Round of 16:
Australia
Not expected to get past a group which included Brazil, Croatia and Japan, Dutch coach Guus Hiddink masterminded a magnificent showing by the Socceroos.

Ecuador
Before the turnament began, it was claimed that the South Americans could not play well away from their home country. La Tricolor proved their doubters wrong.

Ghana
As the only side from the continent to qualify for the Round of 16, Ghana were rightly described as the ‘Pride of Africa’. Victories over the USA and the Czech Republic cemented this claim.

Mexico
El Tri will be disappointed with their exit in the Round of 16 but the match against Argentina - which they lost 2-1 after extra time - will surely be remembered as one of the tournament’s best.

Netherlands
After qualifying from what was thought to be the tournament’s toughest group, Marco van Basten’s men came up short against a well-organised Portugal side.

Spain
Tipped by many to go far in the competition after disposing of Ukraine, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia with relative ease at the group stages, Spain fell at the very next hurdle.

Sweden
Conceding two early goals in the first 12 minutes to Germany effectively ended the Swedes' hopes of progressing to the quarter-finals.

Switzerland
The winners of Group G failed to convert any of their three penalties against Ukraine to see them exit the competition with an unwanted new FIFA World Cup record.

Group Stages:
Angola
While not altogether unexpected, Angola's first-round elimination was down to a combination of inexperience and tactical limitations.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica were hoping for big things in Germany, but the team which was considered to be one of the best in the country’s history, failed to get past the group stage.

Côte d'Ivoire
The Elephants came with a lot of promise and although they fell at the first hurdle, they won many friends and admirers in their all-too-brief visit to Germany.

Croatia
Back home many thought that a clash with Italy in the Round of 16 was the team's destiny. However, failure to take chances put paid to Croatia's hopes.

Czech Republic
They entered the FIFA World Cup as one of the highest-ranked teams and got off to an impressive start. But injuries struck their forwards and the journey home came all too soon for the Czech Republic.

Iran
Defeats by Mexico and Portugal in their opening games left Iran with no chance of advancing. The subsequent point claimed against Angola was no consolation at all.

Japan
Two goals and a solitary point were all Japan had to show for their efforts at Germany 2006, the tournament which brought to an end Zico’s reign as coach.

Korea Republic
Victory against Togo gave the Taeguk Warriors their first FIFA World Cup success on European soil, but it was not enough to book the team a place in the Round of 16.

Paraguay
Paraguay returned home having picked up just three points from their three Group B encounters. Their hopes were ended by narrow defeats in their opening two matches.

Poland
Poland and their fans are unlikely to harbour fond memories of Germany 2006, but a 2-1 win over Costa Rica in their final match did provide some consolation.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia for their fourth consecutive appearance at the FIFA World Cup finals, and once again Sami Al Jaber weighed in with a goal.

Serbia and Montenegro

The team that only conceded one goal in qualifying to finish ahead of Spain, somehow ended up on the receiving end of ten in as many days in Germany.

Togo
Having suffered three defeats in as many games, Togo bade farewell to Germany as the bottom team in Group G, with off-field issues contributing to their downfall.

Trinidad and Tobago
Showing great determination and resolve to make up for their inexperience and lack of resources, T&T will look back on their two weeks in Germany as a success.

Tunisia
Tunisia made history by becoming the first African side to record a win at Argentina 1978. Twenty-eight years on and three campaigns later they have yet to repeat the feat.

USA
They earned only a single point, thanks to a 1-1 draw with Italy, and there is no shortage of things that could have gone better for this US squad.

do look at the bigger pix of zidane's head butt...

fm a very neutral point of view... neither for the gayish italians or for the cocky french...

surfed into most of the popular sports/footie websites... the whole world seems to be talking about zidane's head butt... some websites even put that as the main pix on their website.. overshadowing italians winning the title...

even beckenbauer mentioned.. he is always reserved and let his footie do the talking.. he must have been provoked to act in such a way... i got to agree with him...

until now... prolly, guess the whole malaysia watched the headbutt incident over and over and over again over astro.. but, they only showed once or twice wat happened BEFORE the head butt and wat actually provoked zidane...

materazzi is clearly doing all the touching, twisting and turning zidane's nipple and caressing zidane's chest...

then that gayboy kena head butt!.. padan muka lah, wat else... brokeback italians!...

all this could be also out of frustration...

but, anyway.. anyhow... why wanna provoke zidane for no reason/s?!?...

the french can hold their heads high up eventho they gayboys beat them!...

p/s ; the way materazzi fell to the ground was so dramatic... should have joined wwe instead of footie...

wat happened and wat's happening at the world cup 2006...

wat i have observed, learned and realised during this world cup... in no particular order...

1 - referees think that they are God...

2 - sepp blatter said something few times about the portugal vs holland referee and then regretted about it, but in the end the referee also kena dropped...

3 - maradona is loyal to his people around him...

4 - portugal is filled with mummy's boys...

5 - zidane is old?!?.. nahh, he came back strongly...

6 - dun and never underestimate underdogs...

7 - brazil can actually suck pretty well...

8 - ronaldo needs to go on a diet...

9 - ronaldinho needs to pay a visit to the dentist...

10 - euros chics can never come close to south american ones...

11 - real men dry...

12 - people can actually refuse emergency treatment and go on celebrating the joy of a goal...

13 - chelsea may be thinking twice now for buying schevenko...

14 - some teams play with 14 players... 11 + 3 match officials...

15 - rules are tougher...

16 - a fren of mine confessed secretly that she is a sucker for mummy's boys...

17 - fifa world cup website is excellent...

18 - know some people actually talking about malaysia getting into the world cup...

19 - ballack also known as bollocks...

20 - you can't score mean you can't score... 20+ - 30+ shots on goal, not even one went between the post... lampard fm chelsea.. why am i not surprise...

21 - another fren of mine have this problem called 'dunno-which-team-to-support-all-the-time'... fm supports para-gay to urut-gay... then one a certain occasion he had a germany flag painted on his palm and a sweden flag painter on his right cheek... people just dun make up their mind... sigh!...

22 - scolari talks a lot...

23 - eriksson have no feelings, be it win or lose...

24 - prolly only in germany you can find stadium with 'pole-roof' which is able to distract a game and/or the players on the pitch...

25 - wags are more popular than the players at times...

26 - colleen bought a car for approx euros 177k for rooney even before the world cup belongs to the english.. i wonder wat will she get when he scores a goal then...

27 - another certain fren i know came all the way to watch a game with us in big fish... apparently he know nuts about footie... so, kuritaing should be the only purpose...

28 - shebby singh should coach a world cup team... preferably ghana...

29 - simple osim igallop ad is more popular than multi million dollars ad shown on astro...

30 - portugese are softies...

31 - germans are snobbish...

32 - italians are gays...

33 - french are cocky...

34 - everyone looks the same in team like ghana and togo...

35 - this is the only month in 4 years where billions of dollars are transfered around the globe in the fastest way...

36 - a tunisian/saudi arabian player gave away his man of the match award simply bacause the award was awarded by budwiser.. wtf?!?.. wat will happen if it is an award fm durex... put on helium gas and treat is as a hot air balloon?!?...

37 - winning teams are kinda predictable in this world cup, but not the scoreline...

38 - no fancy hair style thus far.. unless zidane choose to put on a wig during the 2nd semi-final...

39 - germany in overall did an excellent job which suited the 'slogan' very well... time to make friends... personally i still prefer korea/japan world cup in 2002...

40 - south africa will have a tough act to follow...

wat a way to go out...

120 minutes still no score... and the score needs to be sorted out via penalty kicks!...

golden goal and/or silver goal rule is bad and unfair... penalty kicks is cruel and cunning...

that's it... the english are out of the world cup 2006... their exit were filled with controversies, doubts and uncertainterties...

not to say me being a sore loser... but, come on.. one clear penalty not awarded and one underserved red card shown says it all!...

couldn't bear watching the penalty kicks initially in big fish.. thought of waiting for results in the car... but, somehow something in someway made me stayed back to watch the disaster happened...

lampard, gerrard and carragher penalty kicks saved by ricardo... wat else you want me to say about chelsea and liverpool players?!?... i even gave up thinking about them, dun even bother to ask me to comment about them... as soon as i saw lampard were to take the 1st kick... most of the big fish patrons that nite went... "ooooooooooo... not him pls"... that guy having probs to score even open goals.. wat more taking a penalty...

people say the goal post will look huge when taking a penalty during a game, not during penalty kicks... so true... me myself realised the goal post were smaller that nite... :) ...

2 more things to note fm that game...
- hargreaves were indeed excellent against the portugese...
- lennon made such a big impact when he came on for beckham...
- crouch is to fragile and/or flimsy...

watever it may be.. england WILL BE back in 4 years time...

p/s ; think the english fa paid walcott air ticket/s, accomodation, etc for the fun of it...
