loads how been said about the crap condition of the smart tunnel... fm daily newspapers to malaysiakini to blogs to international websites and to everywhere lah!...
honestly, smart tunnel is an AMAZING idea/constrcution with brilliant function and purposes!...
but... at the same time i find this video AMAZINGLY DISTURBING!... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24BfxA48aT8)...
if these kinda cracks and leaks are to be found 50-100 hundreds years fm now... then i think i may be able to understand lah...
but...
it's barely 2 months old... on top of that this smart tunnel 'officially' started on 23rd june 2007.. which is approx less than 1 week ago!...
i always have this thought... wat will happened if this tunnel were to collapse one fine day due to poor workmanship/maintenance and/or hvg problems exiting when there's fire and/or some kinda major crash in it and people stuck there for hours and/ot etc... not forgetting some people have phobia in 'staying' in there for too long tho... perhaps, only then uncle sam will have a 'good' to step down and/or his boss will have a 'good' reason to fire him?!?...
i wonder wat will mmc/gamuda and uncle sam say about this pathetically built smart tunnel which cost the govt approx rm 2 billion!..
remember the flood few weeks ago?!?.. think, they have a very 'good reason' why they cannot 'divert' the flood then... simply because the smart tunnel hv yet to operate fully then... now, it will be interesting if another flood were to happened in kl, we shall see how 'functional' is this tunnel for a start... i have done a random little survey with some of my frens and over the net for my personal research, with the question... "do you have confidence with the safety and/or the function of smart tunnel?!?"... you go figure some of the results/comments i get...
when this article came out... (http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/6/25/central/18119440&sec=central)... i tot to myself how 'nicer' can it be reported...
btw, which parents allowed their kids to talk bad about the family?!?...
as reported.. “The cracks are only on the surface and not structural. Water seepage is common in any project if it is below the water table. I agree that this can be improved but I think this is within the tolerance level,” he said."...
he THINKS it is within the TOLERANCE level?!?... wtf?!?.. is he or rather are they compromising the SAFETY of malaysians who uses the tunnel?!?...
they say they can improve on the tunnel, but it was not mentioned wat kinda improvement are to be made to the tunnel, when they will do it, how they will do it, etc...
owhh yes, improvement will cost the rakyat.. errrrr.. perhaps another couple of millions of ringgit?!?... owhh wait a minute!... can almost see al-kisah mrr 2 flyover making a comeback! :) ....
p/s ; another malaysia BULL-EH project!...

barisan nasional vs barisan alternatif.. another round?!?...
had a chat with couple of frens the other day...
will it be better if barisan nasional vs barisan alternatif?!?...
or...
barisan nasional vs opposition in different parties?!?...
honestly, if you ask me, it'll have better effects if the opposition to come as a whole under the barisan alternatif umbrella..
ok, dap failed badly when they teamed up with keadilan and pas then...
as most of us the sane ones know, the sane votes fm the chinese will go to dap (yeah, only the insane ones will go to mca and their respective master) and the chinese is the 2nd largest population in malaysia... chinese votes plays a very important role in deciding certain seats, heck, every vote is important nowdays!...
to me, the chinese are pretty fearful of the idea that if barisan alternatif wins (which is not impossible).. pas may have the main say and establish the 'official' islamic state concept.... it is the chinese who are afraid of change!... it is the chinese who are afraid that their rights will be taken away!.. it is the chinese who are afraid of malaysia becoming an 'official' islamic state!... etc...
lemme ask you 3 very simple questions...
why are you afraid of change when you are being suffocated by the current umno-led govt?!?..
why are you afraid of yr rights will be taken away when you already lost everything to the umno-led govt?!?...
why are you afraid of malaysia becoming an 'official' islamic state when everything seems to be so 'officially' islamic nowdays fm the umno-led govt?!?...
again, looking at the nonsense we are going through now, i would personally prefer if all the oppostion parties team up again to knock bn out in the next general election... anyway, who say is impossible?!?...
p/s ; if you understand the concept of pas and some of their heavyweights... pas is wayyyyyyyyyyyy more 'educated and modern' than those fellas sitting up there in umno abusing the nep, promoting street rempiting menace, spending taxpayers money and go for free fall, promoting violence via keris waving and being asked when the 'waver' gonna use it, c4 fm his ministry and keeping extreme silence over it, sleeping during meetings and a lot more lah, just no time to go on!....

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!…Even journalists covering the Dewan Rakyat proceedings could not recall how many times Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz repeated this word.
His target was none other than the Opposition Leader, Lim Kit Siang. The two heavyweights locked horns over corruption today.
Unhappy with the lengthy explanation provided by Nazri on Malaysia’s poor placement in Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Lim quizzed him on the corruption allegation against Deputy Internal Security Minister Mohd Johari Baharum.
Johari was accused of receiving RM5.5 million in bribes to free several criminal suspects held under the Emergency Ordinance (EO). The deputy minister denied this but an investigation was launched.
“How can he (Johari) come clean when the ACA (Anti-Corruption Agency) has not released its findings, and when the Attorney-General (AG) also keeps mum?” asked Lim.
This question irked Nazri, who retorted:
“Malaysia will never develop as long as we have people like Lim. All these (corruption allegations) are lies. Why are you so stupid? Where are the allegations? You have no brains. Stupid, stupid, stupid!…
“All these are lies. Where is the RM5 million? There is no RM5 million, which means the allegation is not true.
“If you want to know why the AG is keeping quiet, you should ask him and not me. I cannot answer on his behalf because I will be accused of influencing him.”
Lim, who was also seeing red by this time, responded: “The AG is not here. But you are here. And you have the responsibility to answer.”
Speaker: No ruling
At this juncture, DAP MPs rose to defend Lim and urged Dewan Rakyat Speaker Ramli Ngah Talib to make a ruling against Nazri for using improper language in the House.
However, the Speaker refused to do so.
“Improper language is used all the time in Dewan Rakyat. If I make a ruling every time it happens, we will not have any time for debates.
“Even though I don’t encourage rudeness in the House, I will not make a ruling. However, I hope MPs will be more careful with the language they use in future,” he said.
This prompted Nazri to throw in a sarcastic comment: “Since stupid is not proper, I will use ‘not smart’ instead.”
Earlier, Nazri (BN-Padang Renggas) was responding to Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (PKR-Permatang Pauh) who asked Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to state if he is focussed on fighting corruption since Malaysia’s ranking in the CPI was on the slide compared to neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore.
While agreeing that the ranking had deteriorated, Nazri, however, argued that the CPI does not reflect the real corruption situation in the country.
“We were ranked 39th in 2005 and last year we were ranked 44th. However, more countries were included in the study last year compared to 2005,” he said.
“Furthermore, the report is based on perception and is contrary to the real situation. Nevertheless, the negative perception must be treated as a lesson by everyone in order to work harder to fight graft,” he added.
Singapore - not a real country
The minister also said that Malaysia must not be compared to countries like Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.
“Singapore is not a real country, it is a small island. Singapore’s population is just three to four million and there are no opportunities for corruption, unlike in our country.
“As for Vietnam and Indonesia, I understand that they received lower rankings last year. But being among the first 200 is not difficult. But once we get to be among the first 40 or 50, it is difficult (to improve) as we have reached a bottleneck,” he added.
Wan Azizah then asked if the government plans to allow the ACA to be answerable to Parliament in view of the many corruption allegations, especially against top politicians such as Johari and Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud.
“We have a freer media now that allows many voices to be heard. That is why we have many people making unfounded allegations in the media,” responded Nazri.
Citing the Johari case as an example, Nazri said the allegations had appeared on blogs and anybody could create a blog.
“All these are people’s perceptions which cannot be made as a basis for charges,” he said, proposing instead on a more tighter control of the media.

indians in malaysia are being marginalised directly?!?...
where is uncle sam when he the hero for all indians is most needed?!?... patching the leaks in the parliament and/or learning the function of the smart tunnel?!?...
me even as a chinese is disgusted when i read about the news below!...
i wonder wat are the reasons behind the govt is not starting a fund for the indians?!?...
as reported... "and training for entrepreneurs as well as providing business licences to encourage them to venture into business."...
would appreciate if black and white statistics to be provided by that fella to support his claims...
encouraging them into biz is just not enough.. 1st thing 1st, they will need funds to help them to survive...
honeslty, to me it is them, the 'top level' people in the govt are casuing all this kinda race/religion disharmony, marginalisation, etc... in this country...
they are talking about racial unity, religion freedom, etc... but on the other hand they are proving that they are contradicting wat they say...
example...
- bangsa malaysia status is now a long gone thing...
- nep is still going on despite, so-called everyone should be treated equally... also, nep is being abuse to make the rich richer and the poor pooer...
- if you want to bid for a govt project, the main condition would be bumi company is a MUST...
- demolishing of worshipping places...
- this is the time/season for new intakes of students into unis.. mark my words and watch how many non-bumis will be 'marginalised' and/or 'sidelined'... been reading numeours reports on this lately... btw, this is a yearly affair and no changes or watsoever...
- etc..
like i said many times, muslims are the majority in this country and they have the power to change certain things, we need the sane ones like those who actually care about the country to make those changes... you can send them yr warning via the ballot box in the next ge tho...
wat do you think?!?...
p/s ; in this time now, we still have indians who make less than rm 400.00 a month with a family to take care off, we have an indian boy who makes rm 1.00 a day, we have indians who are forced to embrace islam (ok, out of topic.. :) ..)
Government won’t start fund for Indians, but will help in other ways
THE Government has no plan to set up a special investment fund to help uplift the economic position of the Indian community in the country, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator Datuk Abdul Rahman Suliman said the Government had used various mechanisms to help the Indians and to ensure that the targeted 3% equity ownership by the community during the Ninth Malaysia Plan period was achieved.
He said various efforts had been taken to increase the participation of Indians in the economy and help uplift their economic status .
Abdul Rahman, replying to a question from K. Devamany (BN – Cameron Highlands) in the Dewan Rakyat, said the mechanisms included Perbadanan Nasional Berhad investment schemes, expanding access to financial assistance, and training for entrepreneurs as well as providing business licences to encourage them to venture into business.
> A medical group from India, Universal Empire Group (UEG), is seeking a local partner to set up a medical college in Malaysia, Malaysia Nanban reported.
UEG’s adviser in Malaysia, Datuk Syed Hussein Al-Habshee, said the New Delhi-based company’s key management team recently visited Malaysia to look into the possibility of setting-up such a college with the capacity to train 100 doctors initially.
