boiling frog syndrome...

anyone remember the story of the boiling frog syndrome?!?....

if you put a frog into boiling water, the frog will immediately jump out... but if you put the frog in cold water and slowly increase the heat of the water, it will get accustomed to the increasing heat and eventually the frog will be boiled/cooked...

are we in the boiling frog syndrome?!?... i seriously think we are!...

for example... if i remember correctly... the very 1st time malaysia was declared an islamic state was when mm announced it somewhere in the 80s/90s... a big ferocious uproar then... one can see how the non malays votes swing, etc... this tradition of making annoucement that malaysia is an islamic state happens every now and then, people are so used to it now... people do not bother about it... people do not care about it... simply because people are experiencing the boiling frog syndrome!...

another exmaple would be... our minister-of-education-but-send-his-children-to-overseas-for-studies... he wave his keris and people ask him when is he gonna use it.. even if this is not an issue of religion/racial, isn't this an issue and an act of violence?!?... wat did he said?!?... he said he will continue to wave the keris until people are desensitised on this matter!... all you know is, everything will be ok after the next few times he wave the keris... soon, people will be so used to it... people will not bother about it... people will not care about it... simply because the people will be boiled/cooked via the the boiling frog syndrome way then!...

so many things happening all this while and lately too.. most, if not all are putting dents after dents to the country and the reputation of malaysia... in no particular order... sleeping pm, nepotism, cronyism, promoting mat rempits, rising crime, continuance of nep, race based politics, hardcore poverty, judiciary system, contorlled freedom of press, controlled freedom of religion, almost zero transparency, blatant on-the-table corruption, islamisation in a secular country, sluggish economy, toll hike, fuel hike, education, poor public transport system, demonising bloggers, local councillors, useless elected mps, that bodoh/pondan de facto law minister, that arrongant son-in-law, leakages in brand new building, collapsing of incomplete building, brain drain, 'consistent' death casualty in civil service, abuse of power by authorities, violence committed by authorities, long outstanding court hearings, security of the children, soaring cost of living, etc... pls tell me wat's good about malaysia now!...

50 years into independence and the most basic rights of the rakyat is denied... take bersih rally and hindraf rally for the simplest examples... why can't they issue the permit for a peaceful gathering?!?... wat farking problem are they talking about?!?... they say the rally will have problems, i say those rodents sitting up there are the problems!... they say the traffic jam are caused by the people who will be attending the rally, i say those rodent sitting up there are casuing the traffic jam!... it's common sense afterall...

malaysia is in a mess.. a big mess!... tks to bn/umno every single rakyat will have something got to do with politics in one way or another, like it or not... it's a brutal fact and it is definitely not very nice!... to me personally, the only way to bring back the glorious days of malaysia when we have nothing but the glowing muhibbah spirit is when the whole country is literally flat again!... only then we can see people regardless race/religion work literally hand-in-hand in building up the nation, again!... that's probably the only way for the better of malaysia and our future generations, if bn/umno continue the rule the country with fraud and they not changing in some of their policies which is 'promoting' marginalisation, one-sided values, hatred, greed, etc...

for a few times lately i thought of going with the umno flow... the thought of, 'why fight when you know you gonna lose' came across my mind couple of times... but, deep down in me i know malaysia still have hope, i know there are loads more sensible rakyat out there, i know i love my country, i know many people have the same vision as mine, i know things can still be changed, etc... it's only selfish for me to go with the wrong flow!... gonna make that change with so many others!...

p/s ; my ramblings on a friday noon and at the same time i am very worried and angry with wat is going on in this country!...
